Virtual Reality Tours
A virtual tour is a simulation of a location, the location can be existing or being created. The tour is usually composed of a sequence of video images. The phrase “virtual tour” is used to describe a wide range of video and photographic based media. The phrases “panoramic tour” and “virtual tour” have been associated with virtual tours created using a still camera. However virtual tours are built up of a number of shots taken from one point, as the camera and lens are rotated around a nodal point. The virtual tour’s have a static wrap-around feel to them, where as a video tour is a full motion video of a location.
This tour was created to show a client around a new non existing environment yet to be developed. This video was posted onto YouTube using a FLV format to display play the video.
I think that using the video tour is a quick and effective way to display a certain environment and what it could look like after development. The target audience for this the virtual tour are people in industry, such as property developers and graphic designers.
